There’s so much buzz all over the internet about the pros and cons of eating raw eggs. Well, cooked, raw, poached, fried or whichever way, eggs remain one of the healthiest meals on this planet. More than just eating them, they’re also the cheapest beauty products you can find anywhere and they’re 100% natural too! Eggs are very rich in lutein (One egg yolk provides approximately 200 micrograms of lutein), a carotenoid important for skin health. The proteins in eggs can also be used in softening the hair, and to give it strength and shine.

PS: This article is for men as much as it’s for women because men deserve to be good-looking and healthy too.

Raw Eggs for Your Skin

  1. Raw Eggs as an Eye Treatment

Dark circles are everyone’s worst nightmare. Sadly, they’re inevitable for people who work late nights and get up really early. Here’s how eggs can come in handy: Simply dip a soft brush in egg white and apply around the eye area. Wait for it to dry and then rinse with cold water. Do this once every week for faster results.

  1. Raw Eggs as an Exfoliating Body Scrub

Body scrubs are used to get rid of the dead cell on the skin surface so as to reveal a moisturised layer of fresh, clean and smooth skin. Rather than spend a fortune in a spa just to get smooth skin, simply make your scrub yourself! Grind the shell of four hard boiled eggs and mix with a teaspoon of salt and two teaspoons of honey. Use a loofah or your bare hands to massage this mixture onto your body. Rinse off after a few minutes.

  1. Raw Eggs for Tightening Pores

The tighter your pores are, the more difficult it is for dirt to accumulate on your skin. So wouldn’t you rather shrink your pores with an egg white face mask? Separate the egg white from the yolk and mix the white with a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on a clean face. Leave it to dry and then rinse with warm water. Do this once a week to achieve your desired result.

  1. Raw Eggs for Nourishing Dry Skin

Dry skin occurs when the skin does not retain enough moisture. This often underrated skin problem can progress into more severe skin conditions such as eczema or dermatitis. To get rid of dry skin, mix one egg yolk with one tablespoon of honey and two drops of almond oil. Apply this mixture to your skin, leave for 20 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Egg yolk is rich in vitamin A and this helps to nourish the skin.

  1. Raw Eggs as a Treatment for Oily Skin

So here’s the irony of life; while some of us are battling with intense dry skin, others are selling off barrels of skin oil from their faces alone (okay, that’s too much exaggeration). On the bright side, there’s a solution for everyone. To treat oily skin, beat one egg white in a mixture of one teaspoon of lemon juice and one teaspoon of honey. Apply this mixture to your skin and leave for fifteen minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Raw Eggs for Your Hair

  1. Raw Eggs for Hair Conditioning

Need a simple natural or permed hair conditioner? Just 3 egg-yolks would do. Mix them in a bowl and apply directly into your hair. Massage your hair from the root to the tip, leave for 30 minutes to one hour and then rinse off with cold water. Warm water may wash off all the moisture you’re trying to lock in while per-boiling the eggs on your hair and this is not a very pleasant combo.

  1. Raw Eggs Add Moisture to Your hair

Dry hair problems? Trust your hair to some fresh eggs. Simply mix 2-3 egg yolks with one tablespoon of honey. Massage this into your scalp and let it dry. Then rinse it off with a mild shampoo. You may want to rinse a few times to get rid all the yolk residue in your hair.

  1. Raw Eggs as a Treatment for Dandruff & Itchy Scalp

Eggs alone contain enough protein to nourish the scalp but if you add neem oil to it, it will go the extra mile. Eggs when mixed with a few drops of neem oil, can act as an effective remedy for dandruff, dry and itchy scalp.

  1. Raw Eggs as a Treatment for Lice Infection

Here’s how to say good bye to the lice in your hair. Depending on the quantity of your hair, mix one or two egg yolks with lemon juice. Apply this mixture all over your hair and wrap your hair up with a disposable shower cap. Leave it on for at least six to seven hours and then rinse off. This process will help suffocate all the lice in your hair.

  1. Raw Eggs for Hair Growth, Thickness & Shine

Egg yolks are filled with nutrients that help stimulate the growth of hair follicles. It also makes the hair stronger so as to prevent breakage and fall. If you add four tablespoons of oil (castor, coconut, almond or olive) to two egg yolks, whisk and apply generously into your hair, your hair can grow by up to an inch in just one month!

You know the saying “If you want to keep your age a secret, you should take care of your skin (and hair – my version)”. Not every time; buy, fry and eat. Sometimes, buy an extra crate just to look great! Have you ever tried any of these mixtures on your hair or skin? Share your experience in the comment section below.
